PARSIPPANY Bishop Serratelli was the main celebrant of a Mass of Thanksgiving marking the 25th anniversary of religious life for five Franciscan Sisters of St. Elizabeth here June 26. A dozen priests concelebrated the Silver Anniversary Jubilee Mass, and the celebration was attended by Mother Lilly Pereppadan, delegate general of the order along with religious sisters, family members and friends.
The five sisters who celebrated were Sister Martina Chang, Sister Jane Rose Chunkan, Sister Alice Ottapurackal, Sister Mary Grace Tran and Sister Sherly Vazhappilly. Sisters serving the order teach at its St. Elizabeth School here, which is a Montesorri school specializing in early childhood education. Many of the sisters in the order also serve in parish ministry as Eucharistic ministers, catechists and visiting the homebound.
