Jubilee for Deacons

JUBILEE MASS FOR DEACONS  Bishop Serratelli was the principal celebrant of the Diocese’s first jubilee anniversary Mass for deacons Sept. 10 in St. Peter the Apostle Church in Parsippany. PARSIPPANY  Bishop Serratelli celebrated a jubilee anniversary Mass for deacons Sept. 10 in St. Peter the Apostle Church here. Thirty deacons were honored marking 15, 25, 30, 40 and more than 40 years since their ordination day. The jubilee Mass for the deacons a first for the Diocese. Concelebrating at the Mass was Bishop Emeritus Rodimer and Msgr. Robert Diachek, who formerly served as diocesan director of deacons. The deacons were joined by their wives, family and friends.

The Deacons who celebrated jubilees and the parishes they serve are:

40+ years: Joao Da Silva, Morristown Hospital; Stephen Marabetti, St. Joseph, Lincoln Park and John Meyer, St. Mark, Long Valley. 40 years: Andrew Calandriello, St. Kateri Tekakwitha, Sparta; Robert Pringle. Our Lady of Consolation, Wayne; Ronald Ochner, Our Lady of Good Counsel, Pompton Plains, and Sylvester Mazzocolli, St. Virgil, Morris Plains.

30 years: Richard Brudzinski, St. Anthony, Hawthorne, and Henry Gallo. Our Lady of Pompeii, Paterson.

25 years: Joseph Balough, St. Bonaventure, Paterson; Michael Hanly, Assumption, Morristown; Thomas Healy, St. Luke, Long Valley; Robert Lang, St. Peter the Apostle, Parsippany; Anthony Siino, St. Jude, Budd Lake; Joseph Wisneski, St. Patrick, Chatham; Paul Liotard, Annunciation, Wayne, and Frank Owens, St. Lawrence the Martyr, Chester.
