Bishop Serratelli and Fr. Kevin Corcoran climb the scaffolding and make a thorough
site inspection of the construction progress.
STONE WINDOW FRAME RESTORATION
Frames are chemically cleaned of residue.
Joints are raked and pointed with mortar.
Main structural frames are grouted for stability due to grout erosion over the 146 years lifespan.
Porcelain dowels are installed to protect the stained glass from the grout injections.
Grout ports are cleaned.
Grout ports are filled with mortar.
Chapel window frame is removed to make room for new egress door opening.
Window stone transom tracery salvaged for reinstallation over the future egress door.
Chapel walls are sheetrocked.
Nave plaster walls are prepped for painting.
Approximately 30 dumpters have been filled and discarded.
BELL TOWER RENOVATIONS
Fitzgerald Heavy Timber Construction returned to remove the bellfry
metal roofing and drill new drainage holes.
