Partners in Faith: Catholic Schools

Supporting Catholic schools is important aspect of
Partners in Faith campaign

PATERSON  Supporting Catholic education in significant ways is an important aspect of the Partners in Faith campaign. As pledges are paid, the diocese will actively implement the parts of the Case Statement supporting Catholic schools. Part of this will be the implementation of policies for grant making to use the proceeds of the Catholic Schools Matching Gift Endowment. Schools will be eligible to apply for a grant from this endowment for up to 50 percent of the cost of local school improvements, such as program planning, capital upgrades or extraordinary building maintenance.

In addition, a Great Classics Program, which will bring works of great literature that have informed the Catholic tradition to students via a web-based study program, will be developed. The third major part will be to provide support for priests to earn advanced degrees in preparation for leadership positions in diocesan Catholic schools.

The Beacon will continue to provide updates on these initiatives and all the good work accomplished as a result of the generous support of parishioners to Partners in Faith.
