MOUNT ARLINGTON Bishop Serratelli made a pastoral visit to Our Lady of the Lake Parish here where he celebrated the vigil Mass at 5 p.m. Dec. 5 to mark the Second Sunday in Advent. Our Lady of the Lake’s history dates back to 1888 when St. Bernard Parish established a summer mission in Mount Arlington. St. Michael’s then took over the mission and named it Our Lady of the Lake and a church was built on Prospect Street. The present stone church on Widmere Avenue was built in 1912. The mission was raised to parish status in 1938.
