The Daughters of Charity of the Most Precious Blood were founded by Blessed Thomas Maria Fusco on January 6, 1873. He was a diocesan priest whose beatification was celebrated on October 7, 2001, by Pope St. John Paul II. Following the example of our founder, we see the Eucharist as the sacrament that not only conserves and consolidates the peace received in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, but also the sacrament instituted to signify and confer the peace of the Holy Trinity. Our charism is to mirror and reflect the image of that divine Charity which our Heavenly Father has for each of us, by not sparing His Son Jesus, and to do everything with that same love that drove Christ to shed all of His Blood for our salvation. We strive to communicate this great message to our brothers and sisters whom we serve through our life of prayer and works. Frequenting the Sacrament of Reconciliation regularly and daily Eucharist, we are able to maintain and grow in peace with the Lord and with each other.
