Ecumenism

Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue are activities that lie at the heart of the Church's constitution. (See Vatican II, Lumen Gentium, par. 13-17) Ecumenism is that colloquial exchange between fellow Christians who are united by a common Baptism and faith in the Triune God and the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Interreligious dialogue is that fraternal exchange between Christians and people of different religious beliefs built upon a common faith in the existence of God, a common hope in God's providence for our salvation, and a common conviction that we belong to the one human family.

The  Diocese of Paterson invites all of our brothers and sisters to friendly dialogue and cooperation to better serve our neighbors in faith and charity. We look forward to hearing from you and working with you to strengthen and advance the integral development of the one human family.
