Fallen firefighters remembered at 9th Annual Red Mass in cathedral

The Paterson Diocese honored the memory of fallen firefighters on Oct. 10 at the 9th annual Firefighters Red Mass in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson. Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney was the main celebrant of the Mass, con­celebrated by several priests. Remem­bered at the Mass were Newark Captains Augusto Acabou and Wayne Brooks Jr. and West Milford Chief Edward J. Steines. Pater­son Battalion Chief Mike Trommelen rang a bell three times in memory of the deceased firefighters.
