Sheetrock ceilings are installed and painted, plaster is repaired, electrical/alarm wiring and ceiling lights are installed as HVAC work continues.
New trim and existing trusses are primed.
Paint colors are selected.
Chancel attic hatch is installed for ease of future maintenance inspections.
Sheetrock is installed, spackled and primed on sloped nave ceiling and clerestory walls.
Side aisle ceilings are sheetrocked, spackled and primed.
Openings are cut to allow for installation of lights.
BCA inspects wood trusses to identify repair scope of work.
Loose plaster is removed and new plaster patches are installed.
BCA inspects completed plaster for adhesion.
Paint adhesion tests fail at certain truss locations. BCA and the Sherwin Williams
manufacturer's representative inspect to assess the situation and recommend
a different primer to provide acceptable adhesion.
Window stone tracery is prepared to accept the paint stripper. Stained glass windows are protected with pastic sheets. The paint needs to be removed because it is trapping moisture in the stone creating deterioration in the stone.
The paint stripper is applied and covered with a paper backing. When all the paint has desolved, the paper is removed, the leftover paint is scraped off, and the stone is washed clean.
Ceiling joists are modified to allow space to install the new lighting fixtures.
Columns and walls are wired for new lighting and electrical requirements.
