Start of a New Year and end of Phase II exterior renovations;
exterior stained glass window work continues.
Scaffolding is partially dismanteled at the bell tower, Grand Street and West spires as work is completed in those areas. The rest of the scaffolding will remain for the installation of the stained glass window protective glazing and the new louvers at the bell tower.
Chancel roof is closed after completion of the structural repairs.
Snow guards, gutter, leader and facia replacements are completed.
Abandoned chimney is partially demolished and capped.
Hundreds of unstable patches are removed for safety.
Precast stones are installed where existing damaged stones could not be salvaged.

Many spalling stones are raked and tooled to match existing texture.
Existing improperly installed mortar (see above photo) is removed and new mortar (see photos below) is installed; 100% of the South tower/West spires and 10% fo the rest of the masonry is completed.
Chapel masonry repairs are completed; vent grilles replaced.
Stained glass window protective glazing work continues as panels are templated with pink Styrofoam above; plywood panels protect openings of stained glass that has been removed for restoration/repairs.
Stained glass sections have been removed and will be retrofitted to provide ventilation.
The previous system did not allow for ventilation which is crucial for the sustainability
of the stained glass and lead came.
Existing exterior t-bars are removed and replaced with new structural bronze t-bars that will support the new protective glazing.
