STIRLING Bishop Serratelli ordained Arokiaraj Varnabas, and Dieudonne Nsom Kindong to the priesthood April 16 within the order of the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity. The ordination was held in St. Vincent dePaul Church here — the first time the parish had hosted an ordination. More than 700 people gathered to pray, sing and witness the ordination. Music and prayers were sung and spoken in English, Spanish, French, Zulu and Tamil. The Holy Trinity Choir from Resurrection Church in Maryland, St. Vincent dePaul musicians and, Vincentraj, from the Tamil Choir sang during the ordination. Trinitarian Father Michael Barth, custodian general of the Missionary Servants, asked everyone to “Keep these young men in your prayers as they go forth in their mission work.”
Father Varnabas came from the Archdiocese of Pondicherry, India and Father Kindong came from the Archdiocese of Bamenda, Cameroon, West Africa. They received their education at Immaculate Conception School of Theology, South Orange, and have been serving at the Shrine of St. Joseph here for the past four years. Father Varnabas will continue to serve at the Shrine of St. Joseph while Father Kindong will serve as a missionary priest in Guamal, Colombia.
The Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity work with the poor and abandoned throughout the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Honduras and Puerto Rico.
