Bishop visits Annunciation Parish in Wayne for Mass on Father’s Day

WAYNE  Bishop Serratelli made a pastoral visit to Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish here on June 21, Father’s Day. During the visit, he celebrated Mass for the 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Bishop James Navagh established Annunciation Parish in 1963 with territory taken from parishes in Pompton Lakes and Prospect Park. Sunday Mass was initially celebrated at DePaul Catholic High School, while a temporary rectory and weekday chapel was established on Mountain Ridge Drive. The new parish church/parish center and rectory were built in 1967 on Urban Club Road on property donated by the McBride family.
