PATERSON Bishop Serratelli made a pastoral visit to St. Joseph’s Rest Home run by the Daughters of Charity of the Most Precious Blood here on Saturday morning, July 4.
During the visit, the Bishop celebrated Mass in the chapel that was attended by the Precious Blood Sisters and residents of the healthcare facility. Afterward, he enjoyed breakfast and spent time visiting with the residents. In addition to St. Joseph’s, the sisters also run St. Michael’s Junior Day Nursery, which keeps with the order’s mission to care for the sick, the elderly and educate the young.
Precious Blood Sister Maria Goretti Chaloux, superior of St. Joseph’s, said, “Everyone was happy and overjoyed by the Bishop’s visit. Everyone felt special that he took some time to spend it with us on the Fourth of July.”
