DOVER  Bishop Serratelli made a pastoral visit to St. Mary Church here April 9 and celebrated the vigil Mass for the Third Sunday of Easter.

St. Mary’s history began in 1845 when a mission church was established in Dover by St. Vincent’s in Madison. Three years later a resident pastor was sent to Dover. The present church was built on West Blackwell Street in 1873. At various times, the parish has been responsible for missions at Boonton, Mount Hope, Netcong and Newton.
