PATERSON Bishop Serratelli made a pastoral visit to St. Therese Parish here July 11. During his visit, he celebrated the vigil Mass for the Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time in Spanish.
The history of St. Therese Parish began in 1925 when St. Joseph Parish developed plans for a new parish on Paterson’s Eastside. A pastor was assigned in 1926 and a church was built on Thirteenth Avenue and East 33rd Street in 1927 and was dedicated to the newly canonized St. Therese of Lisieux. A new church was built in 1953.3
